Pottsville Beach FC Sixes Regulations and Rules (Amended 09/08/2025)
Ball Size 5 (seniors) or 4 (juniors).
Registration
By registering and participating in the competition, you confirm that you understand and accept these conditions and participate at your own risk, subject to any rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. See registration page for more details.
Attire
Each team players are to wear matching coloured shirts.
If scheduled as the away team, required to have a second colour top with you encase of colour clash (if it provides enough contrast, tops can be turned inside out)
All players must wear shin pads. Players cannot wear jewellery of any description.
Duration
Senior games are 2 x 20 minute halves.
Junior games are 2 x 15 minute halves
Teams
For U6 & U7 a maximum of 4 players from each team on the field at one time. For all other age groups a maximum number of 6 players from each team on the field at one time including the keeper.
In senior mixed at least two females must always be on the field
There is no offside rule.
Goalkeepers
U6 & U7 – No goalkeepers
U8 to Seniors
The keeper cannot kick the ball out of his hands.
The keeper cannot throw the ball beyond halfway without it first touching another player.
The keeper can play as a sweeper beyond the box (in their own half).
Shooting
U6 & U7 – No restrictions
U8 – U11 – Can enter the marked goal area but cannot shoot from within the square
Mens / Womens – Can enter the marked goal square but cannot shoot from within the marked goal area
Mixed – Only the goalkeeper can enter the marked goal area and shots must be from outside the marked goal area
General Play
Sliding tackles are not allowed and will result in a freekick, and potential sin bin depending on severity.
Rough play will result in a freekick, and potential sin bin depending on severity.
When a goal is scored, play is restarted from the centre.
Substitutes are, roll on roll off, only when the ball goes out, after notifying the
referee.
All free kicks are indirect. Opposition players must be 5m from the
ball.
When the ball goes out of play, restart with a throw in. All throw ins are indirect.
The referee has sole authority of the match. Has the authority to sin bin players.
Swearing at the referee is an automatic sending off offence & an automatic 4
match suspension.
Under no circumstances will an unregistered player be allowed to play. Any unregistered player found playing in the competition will result in the player being suspended from play. The team playing the unregistered player may face sanctions.
Other
Players must be 14 and over to play Seniors
No BYO as the club is licensed
Social, family friendly & lots of fun
PBFC 6’s reserves the right to:
a) refuse the registration application of a player and / or team into the competition
b) cancel the registration of a player and / or team into the competition
c) suspend or disqualify a players and/or team from the competition
Disciplinary Procedures
Any player indiscretion deemed appropriate will be noted by the referee and a player indiscretion form will be submitted to PBFC 6’s management team who shall adjudicate on all disciplinary matters.
If in the opinion of the PBFC 6’s management team, a player and/or team brings PBFC 6’s and/or the competition into disrepute, the player and or team may have the registration cancelled and will forfeit all registration fees
Players can appeal to state their case if required. Written appeals must be submitted along with a $200 fee (non-refundable).
Minimum penalties on presentation of player indiscretion form:
a) Abusive language – Minimum One Match Ban
b) Fighting – Minimum 3 Match Ban.
c) Any other player sanctions (suspensions) are at the discretion of the PBFC 6’s management team
